So my garden is going to be looking really good. Yesterday dad and I went out to see how the garden is doing. I told him the lettuce is coming up, but then we saw the carrots are also coming up too! Our last batch of carrots never came up, but our very first row of carrots took a while but they came up. Now their ok big.  This batch of carrots we planted last week and now their up! The trick is ” Pete Moss” We found out that our soil we were planting them in was to heavy. So my dad had a talk with my great- grandpa. ( He was a farmer ) And he said sometimes the soil your planting in is to heavy. He said to use Pete Moss and lightly sprinkle it over your seeds, gently pack it down ( enough so if it rains the seeds won’t fly out. ). That’s the trick!

Our corn is very very tall now.  Our tomatoes, peppers, potatoes and pumpkins are getting really big!   We better pick some onions today or else they will be taken over by the pumpkins.

Today we’ll water and do some weed pulling.

So at my last day of 4th grade, it was pretty much a day of fun! We had a paper airplane contest. One contest was ” hang time “. Hang time is when you try to fly your plane to stay in the air as long as possible. Contest tow in when you try to fly your plane farthest. I had fun but no I did not win. My friends Gavin and Adria won!  Adria won hang time and Gavin won farthest flight. I thought  it  was a ton of fun!

Next my class walked down to the park. My friends and I played tag, and a battle ship game. My friend Payton, a few other people and I span on the merry-go-round until we got head aches. … The park was also fun and tiring.

We walked back to the classroom and we had our Last Day Of School Party. We first played a game called toilet tag when you have taggers, if they tag you, you have to kneel down and stick your hand out. To get back in, the people still in the game have to fake sit on your knee or sit on your knee, and push your hand down and say whoosh, like your flushing the toilet. Pretty fun! Some people got tired of that game so we then played sharks and minnoes. When you have sharks and then you try to run to the other pole without being tagged by a shark and you just keep on going and going. I like that game!

It was a half day so we got home early. I will miss you Mrs. Schurle!!

Lots of you have been wanting a garden update, and I think that’s a GREAT idea and perfect timing!

How’s The Garden: My garden has DOUBLED since I first talked to you about it! We planted more. We planted tomatoes, peppers, green beans a LOT more lettuce and carrots.  I will post pictures of my garden later in the post.  We have actually harvested a few veggies. We made salad, and yesterday my dad and I made cozy burgers. In our salad we put lettuce, onion, and radish. With our burgers we grilled them w/ onions in them, we put lettuce on top along with cheese and ketchup ( YUM! ) I can’t wait to try all veggies especially the corn and carrots.

Owning a garden: I think owning and growing a garden is really fun. But my dad says that it won’t be as fun working in 100 degree weather! ;-)   It kind of is a big responsibility I think. The reason why is because, you HAVE to water, pull weeds and watch the weather ( especially in Kansas )! But it is REALLY fun.

Hello, I know this is sorta late to write this but I will anyway. I think it was last week their was an amazing full moon that was called the ” super moon “! At least I thought it was amazing. I did not get a picture of it so I will tell you a bit about it.

We went a little out of town to see it but When I first saw it I was like Oh My GOSH!!! I thought it was amazing. We got our binoculars out to get a better look at it. I could see the big craters in it. It was bright and full. I wonder if I will ever see something that cool again. I also have a website to show you that my dad gave me. Did you see it over your night sky?
